Judge Yoshio Shigezawa, 83
Judge Yoshio Shigezawa, 83, of Wailuku, passed away on September 22, 2014 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on March 18, 1931 in Wailuku.
He was a graduate of H.P. Baldwin High School, the University of Hawaii, and Harvard Law School.
Yoshio served in the United States Air Force before graduating from Harvard Law School and becoming an attorney and Maui District Court judge.
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann; daughter, Dr. Allison Shigezawa (Dr. Richard Podolny); grandchildren, Miki, Kai and Maya VanDrunen; brothers Etsuo Shigezawa, Haruo (Ruth) Shigezawa, Kazumi (Esther) Shigezawa and George (Aileen) Shigezawa; sisters, Annette Sumada, Mieko (John) Gash, Fusae Shigezawa and Satsuki Childers.
Judge Shigezawa was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela, brothers, Jeffrey Shigezawa, Natsuo Shigezawa and his sister Yaeko Shimomura.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden. Norman’s Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
