Carl K. Yokote, 90

Carl K. Yokote, 90, of Kahului, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2017, at Hale Makua Kahului, surrounded by his loving family. Services honoring Mr. Yokote will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Visitation will begin at 4:30pm with services beginning at 5:00pm.

Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

Carl was born on July 26, 1926 in Puunene to Tomihachi & Mume Yokote. He was the 5 of 8 children. Upon graduating Baldwin High School in 1944, Carl proudly served in the United States Army. On October 19, 1951, he married his love, Thelma Harue Sakuma and together they raised 5 children. Mr. Yokote was a truck driver and watch tower lookout for HC&S before retiring in 1991.

He will be remembered as a hardworking man and good father who always provided well for his family.

Mr. Yokote was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Yokote; brothers, Takashi, Shigeru & Glen Yokote; and sister, Hatsue Fukunaga. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of over 65 years, Thelma (Sakuma) Yokote; sons, Russell (Annette Malaqui), Winston, and Lloyd (Lori Hotta) Yokote; daughter, Kathleen (Reed) Kano. He is also survived by sisters, Joan Tokuoka, Beatrice Fujita & Mildred Ogata; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
