Jason Paul Ambrose, 94

Jason Paul Ambrose, 94 of Wailuku passed away peacefully at home under the compassionate care of Maui Hospice on May 9, 2017, with his loving family by his side.

Services will be held at St Anthony Catholic Church in Wailuku on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Visitation will begin at 9am with mass at 11am. Burial to follow at Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao at 1pm.

Jason was born January 15, 1923 in Spreckelsville, Maui to Manual and Mary Ambrose. He grew up in Spreckelsville and joined HC&S in 1941 as a helper in the Puunene machine shop but soon transferred to the ranch dept as a truck driver. He served in the US Army from 1946-1949. After his time served he returned to Maui and HC&S and eventually became a crew chief, a job he held until retirement. He married the love of his life Eva in 1950.

He will always be remembered as a hard working, kind and humble man. He was a visionary with a keen business sense and a jack of all trades. But most of all he loved his family with all his heart, always putting them first. He is truly our hero. Always in our hearts.

Jason is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Eva Ambrose; Son, Jason J. Ambrose; Daughter, Janette (Harold K.) Paiva; Grandson, Hanalei (Kalena) Paiva; Granddaughter, U’ilani (Tony) Beltran; Great granddaughter, Kale’a Paiva; Great grandsons, Bruce & Duke Beltran.
