Josephine A. Haupu, 91
Josephine Adoration Haupu, 91, of Kihei, passed away peacefully at Hale Makua-Kahului on June 20, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Services honoring Mrs. Haupu will be held at the Lanai Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Services will begin at 9:30 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Lanai.

Josephine was born on April 28, 1926 in Lahaina, Maui to Conrado and Margaret (Yap) Sanchez. She was the eldest of 2 children. Mrs. Haupu managed the Daven Roy laundy and later worked for Dole Co.
Gregorio and Bully raised 5 children together. Josephine would later move on to be an utility worker at Kaanapali Beach Hotel, worked at M¯ahinahina Kai, Lahaina Broiler and finally retiring as a Head Inspectress at the Marriott Hotel.
Outside of work, “Jo” or “Bully”, as she was affectionately known, was as selfless as she was social. She will be remembered as a generous and caring woman, who always made sure people had what they needed. She shared everything she had, warmth anyone and everyone. As she enjoyed fishing, hunting, opihi picking, gathering limu and camping, she always had a catch to share with her neighbors.
Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 21 years, Mr. Haupu, and her son, Gilbert Brian Suetos. Mrs. Haupu is survived by, daughter Lynette Christine Kaopuiki, sonʻs Greg Patrick and Gene Guy Suetos. Blessed with 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
