Dennis John Lovell, 70

Dennis John Lovell, born March 21, 1947, in Honolulu, Hawai’i passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Wailuku, Maui. Dennis was the son of the late Margaret “Margie” Wood Higgins and Charles Lovell.

Dennis graduated from Kalani High School in 1966. He attended California State University, Fresno, California, but his education was interrupted to enlist in to the US Army in 1967. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington USAR Control Group and at USAAC St. Louis, Missouri. He was also a Vietnam War Combat Veteran. In 1976, he enlisted to the Army National Guard and honorably retired SFC E-7 Officer in 1995. Dennis was also a drywall hanger for many years.

Dennis was predeceased by his father, Charles Lovell; mother, Margaret “Margie” Higgins; his sister, Odetta “Lani” Yoshisato and brother, Richard Lovell.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Alberta Lovell; sons, Ashford “Nunu” Brown, Frank (Leola) Lovell, Andrew Lovell; 2 grandchildren, Justice Kimura-Brown, Brock “Hinano” Lovell; siblings, Rosalie Matsunaga, Carolyn Yamada, Charlotte Nuz, Sharon Bryant (Mark), Victor Robello Jr (Trina), Ronald Robello, Melvin Robello, Abraham Robello.

Services honoring Dennis will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm and military honors and service at 6:30pm. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Makawao Veterans Cemetery at 11:00am. The family requests no flowers/flower arrangements.
