Jean Yoneko Omori Murakami
Jean Yoneko Omori Murakami passed away on November 17, 2017. She was born on August 19, 1924 in Puunene, Maui.
Services will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Friday, December 8 at 4:30 p.m.
She is survived by her sister, Myrtle Toda (Johnson) and son John Murakami (Mahie), eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, Keigo Murakami, son, Leslie Jonah Murakami, sister Ichie Matsuoka, and brothers Rikio, Masaru, Itaru, Mitsuru and Morio.
Jean graduated from the Old Maui High School, Hamakuapoko Campus and worked as office manager at Maui County Department of Transportation for over 33 years. She spent her time after retirement taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who kept her young and happy. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, her favorite magazines and doing her daily crossword puzzles. She also loved to travel. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly.
