Kiyono Endo, 98, of Kahului, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of Hospice Maui and her loving family at Hale Makua-Kahului on January 16, 2018.
Services honoring Mrs. Endo will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Visitation will begin at 7:30am, with services beginning at 8:00am. Mrs. Endo will be laid to eternal rest with her beloved husband, Mr. Eichi Endo at Maui Veterans Cemetery at 11:00am.
Kiyono was born in Wailuku on June 26, 1919 to Okimatsu & Rin Sato. She was the 2nd child, and eldest daughter of a family of 17 children. Kiyono was a hard worker her entire life. She started early, helping her parents raise the 15 children younger than her, she helped with the cooking, cleaning and rearing of her younger siblings. After his return from serving in WWII, Kiyono met and married the love of her life, Mr. Eichi Endo, and together they raised 2 children.
Mrs. Endo will be remembered as Kay the insatiable giver.
Mrs. Endo leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Carol Ann (Glenn) Betlinski; son, Mark (Tracie) Endo; grandson, Shane Betlinski; granddaughter, Kim Betlinski; sister, Lorraine (Bob) Sato; nephews, Troy & Brent Sato; and many other loving nieces and nephews.
The family of Mrs. Endo would like to extend a special mahalo to the staff of Hale Makua Kahului, especially in the Pikake neighborhood; and the staff of Hospice Maui for the compassionate care they provided Mrs. Endo.
