Vainimala Vi, 62

Vainimala Vi, 62, passed away on December 23, 2017, with his family by his side in Wailuku.

Mr. Vi was born January 5, 1955, in Tonga by Minister Solomone Vi (Father) and Melefihi Vi (Mother) and later moved to Maui and worked as a bus driver for MEO and served as a minister for the Free Church of Tonga.

He been fighting cancer like a champ for 3 long years with the support of Dr. Ted Keyes and his loving team.

He is survived by his wife, Aotoa Vi of Wailuku, sons Kaleo Bond of Kahului and Talaiasi Vi of Wailuku; daughters Shayna Vi of Honolulu, Tina Vi of Wailuku; brothers Sikaiona (Siale) Vi of Wailuku, Kesoni (Lesieli) Akau of Tonga, Takai (Fale) Vi of California; sisters Lea’aepeni Pome’e of New Zealand, Temalisi (Etu) Fineisaoli of Wailuku, Susana (Viliami) Finau of Australia, and Seini (Unaloto) Misi of California; 3 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on January 12, 2017 from 7am to 12pm at Ballard Family Mortuary, with burial to follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku at 1:00pm.
