Joachim Buetzer, 75

Joachim Buetzer, 75, of Lahaina passed away on January 15, 2018 at Maui Memorial Medical Center

Joachim was born in Karlsruhe, Germany on February 14, 1942 to the late Karl and Anna Buetzer. He immigrated to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1968.

He is the beloved father of Hans Buetzer and Tatiana (Brett) Labore. He is the proud grandfather of Caleb Buetzer, Taj Labore, Kobe Labore, and Mina Labore. He is survived by his brother Berndt Gros. Joachim will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, brother, sister in laws, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Papa Joe proudly retired in 2004 and became babysitting grandpa. He was a Chef, Bartender, and Sommelier. He was also an accomplished scuba diver and avid fisherman. He passed his love of fishing as a lasting legacy to his children, grandchildren, and friends. Most of all he is loved and remembered for his warmth, generosity, and humor.

At his request Nakamura Mortuary assisted with arrangements and a celebration of life with family and friends will be held 12pm at Wahikuli Oneway Beach Park in Lahaina on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
