Presidio Flor Padron, 82

Presidio Flor Padron, 82, of Kahului, passed away on January 9, 2018 at Islands Hospice Hale.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Nakamura Mortuary, with a memorial service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Maui Veterans Cemetery, Makawao.

Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements.

Mr. Padron was born on September 6, 1935 at Maui Plantation Camp 11 in Puunene, Maui. “Flor” was the second of four sons born to Manuel Vea Padron and Florencia Madamba Padron of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. After serving as a Captain in the United States Army; serving time in Vietnam, and then as a Sergeant 1st Class in the Army Reserve, he retired as a Supervisor at Hawaiian Commercial and Sugar Company. He also worked as an Assistant Store Manager at Marmac Ace Hardware in Kahului.

Mr. Padron leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children; Sheldyn, Josette and Myles (Riza); hanai daughter DonnaMarie Fernandez; three grandchildren; Kalani Battad, Mykaela Padron and Ryan Padron; a hanai granddaughter Josephine Cosma and a great-grandchild Kalani Battad Jr.

He is also survived by three brothers; Pantaleon “Pete” of California, Jose “Joe” (Louisa) of Oahu and Juan “John” of Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his wife Luella Moleta Padron and daughters; Sheralyn and Lynette.
