Lynn Tokie Matsuda, 70

Lynn Tokie Matsuda, 70, of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully on June 27, 2018 at her residence.

Lynn was born on October 19, 1947 2ndof 3 siblings to Morris and Kikue Yamashita of Kona, HI. Growing up in Kona in the old plantation days she grew up picking coffee with her older brother and Mom. From an early age she was introduced to hard work and dedication in which she carried in to her adulthood as she moved away and started to build her own life and family. She attended college, moved to Oahu and started working for Hawaiian Tel where she met her ex-husband. They soon after got married and started to build their family on the island of Maui. She was a housewife for majority of her younger years and enjoyed doing volunteer work for places like the Red Cross, American Heart Association and the Cameron Center. She worked hard and took great pride in providing with what she could. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, helping others, cooking, baking, and talking stories. Many knew her for her infamous Key lime jello mold and avocado sherbert.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, July 28, 2018, visitation will begin at 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am. The family requests aloha attire. Lynn’s final resting place will be at Maui Memorial Park, committal service to be held on July 31, 2018 at 10:30am.

Lynn leaves to cherish her memory, son Brice Matsuda of Wailuku, daughters Yvette Muta of Honolulu, Gerraine (Emerson) Matsuda Faylogna of Kahului, three grandchildren Tasia Matsuda, Jaelen Matsuda-Williams, and Aria Matsuda Faylogna of Kahului, brothers Eric Yamashita of Washington, Clay (Terri) Yamashita of Kansas, and mother Kikue Yamashita of Kona.
