Apply common sense to restrictions on weapons

Just wanted to compliment a Jan. 16 letter writer about his spot-on answer to a Jan. 12 letter about the definition of assault rifles. They are military weapons and do not belong in the civilian population period.

The next thing we will be debating is which car lot will be allowed to sell tanks and which drone can be bought that will circle my house longest before it needs a battery recharge and what weapons are included.

C’mon, folks, there has got to be some common sense when it comes to restrictions.

No one I know is trying to take anyone’s guns away.
