Makawao Avenue still needs more improvements

Makawao Avenue seems to be well paved and it looks pretty good for an old road heavily traveled on daily. However, it continues to be a potential site for injuries to pedestrians, joggers and cyclists and to motorists trying to avoid them.

The pedestrians are usually students. The joggers could be anybody. And the cyclists are brave citizens who insist on taking a precarious risk.

It has already taken too long to update the safety of Makawao Avenue. More sidewalks, crosswalks and bicycle lanes are necessary. Curbing and stations would be appreciated at our bus stop locations. The bus stop station across from the Eddie Tam Center is a beautiful addition to the avenue. It serves as a sample of how the entire avenue could look like.
