Failure to protect kids should cause an outrage

Thank you to the April 23 letter writers of who expressed their outrage over what resulted in the nonsentencing of two sexual molesters/predators/monsters. Both of them, one of which was the father, received little jail time and probation.

I do hope that there are more of you out there who are as outraged as we are.

Take a few moments to write to The Maui News and your representatives – Sen. Mazie Hirono, Gov. Neil Abercrombie, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and state Rep. Kaniela Ing – about the lack of protection of the children of Hawaii and a urgent need for a form of Jessica’s Law in the state if Hawaii and its failure to do its jobs.

Let us start an avalanche of outrage. This is what politicians listen to.

Our kids should have more protection than whales, reefs, nene, monk seals, cats, dogs and the Kealia Pond federally protected birds (with two full-time employees whose jobs are to count them).
