Proud time for MIL at state track and field meet

I would like to congratulate all the athletes who participated in the state track and field championship. It was one of the best performances from Maui athletes that I have seen.

Congratulations to the Baldwin boys team for winning the meet, to the King Kekaulike boys team for placing third and to the Seabury Hall girls team for taking second place.

As the only Maui Interscholastic League track official officiating the meet, I was so proud of all the Maui athletes. Other officials came up to me several times and congratulated me for the fine performance of the Maui athletes.

I would also like to thank all of the MIL track and field officials for volunteering their time during the season. MIL track and field officials do not get paid for officiating. It takes roughly 35 officials to run a track meet. Many thanks to all the schools that run the field events. A special thanks to the MIL Executive Secretary Joe Balangitao for all the support for track and field.
