Council is wasting time on old postal building

I recall reading a Maui News story last year about how the county wanted to tear down the Old Wailuku Post Office.

It seemed to make sense to me. Due to health concerns, nobody could use the building because of mold, lead and asbestos problems.

Why is the council wasting time on this issue? Council members should be utilizing their time and effort on new projects to maybe build a more useful parking structure to alleviate parking problems in Wailuku.

We have too many other problems out there, like why there aren’t enough people working in the Motor Vehicle and Licensing Division so that we don’t have to stand in line for hours. The council should investigate that instead. Couple of suggestions, all DMV workers should be trained to tend to all issues and assist accordingly on a first-come, first-served basis to avoid long waits and frustrations from the public. There is no sense in getting a number assigned and getting assisted two or three hours later.
