Tsutsui should have state, not county, space

“Tsutsui leasing space for Maui office from county” (The Maui News, June 2). “Perhaps as early as this week Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui will officially have an office on Maui in the county’s Kalana O Maui building.”

No, no, no, no, no!

There are three state buildings within walking distance of the county building. What is wrong with them? Now that the state passed off state IDs to the counties, there should be plenty of space in the old Territorial Building.

What is going on and, more importantly, why? Something is wrong with this picture.
