Left untreated, little things become big things

I disagree with the opinion of the July 8 “Today’s Editorial,” which stated medical costs are a good thing, keeping us healthy so we don’t see the doctor for little things. Sometimes the little things are actually quite serious and, if left untreated, can be very expensive.

If you really knew the overcharging that goes on it would blow your mind. I hope that the editorial writer does not ever have a serious medical concern, because he is in for a shock at what the best medical care really costs.

Kidney failure doesn’t usually show until it is too late. Seeing a doctor can prevent more than $150,000 a year in dialysis treatment.
