Put politics aside and support Na Koa Ikaika

Over the years, I have read hundreds of letters to the editor from right-wing conservatives. May I say that you are all brilliant and correct.

I have also read hundreds of letters from left-wing liberals. May I say that you are all brilliant and correct.

Now that it’s settled, maybe all of us can focus on a more important issue, like supporting our baseball team. Yes, that is more important. Our Na Koa Ikaika baseball team needs and deserves our support. During their last homestand, I took my daughter to four games. Average attendance for those games was 125. Both liberals and conservatives must agree that number is pathetic.

The next homestand begins on July 11. With a population of about 150,000, I hope to see more than 123 there.

By the way, they are a solid team fighting for first place, have the league’s home run leader and the only woman in the nation to play pro baseball. Tickets are cheap, so there’s no excuse.

Come on Maui, fun and cheap and supporting the local economy – take me out to the ballgame.
