Cancellation causes baseball fan to close wallet

What? Na Koa Ikaika Maui is canceling its last homestand to rest up for the playoffs (The Maui News, Aug. 8)?

They’re eight games out. What is this, liberal athletics where everyone gets a little trophy?

Not to mention: “The fans had seen both these teams play each other a bunch of times this year.” Like, duh. Every time we come to a game we’re seeing them over and over, and it ain’t like the league is chock full of other teams.

I was a season ticket holder every year for the Stingrays and love watching live baseball, but it’ll be hardball, Japanese league, high school and Little League from now on. Not another dime.

Thirsty Thursday will now be on my lanai.
