Charging for online access shows no aloha spirit

We are saddened by the loss of the ability to read our favorite end-of-the-week columnists. We are annual visitors to Maui since 1964 and always subscribe to The Maui News while there.

The new policy of charging subscription rates for us on the Mainland to enable us to check local events and columns a couple of times a week is certainly beyond our retirement budget.

We recognize this is a growing trend, but certainly not the aloha spirit.
