Good health and clean air more important than profit

The writer who has decided to surrender to cane smoke (Letters, July 30) doesn’t speak to those of us that think our health and clean air are way more “important” than profit.

Last time I checked, surrender means to give up, which the writer apparently has.

We have not.

There has to be a better way to keep the crop and get it out without burning. Keep up the pressure. Never surrender.
