Council members overrode veto on tax credit

Regarding the newly implemented revision of the circuit breaker tax credit program (The Maui News, Sept. 17), it was a 9-0 unanimous vote by our County Council overriding Mayor Alan Arakawa’s veto to literally confiscate millions of additional tax dollars from Maui real property homeowners to fulfill their endless insatiable financial appetites verses a more logical effort to research a reduction of severely out-of-control, wasteful spending.

Sadly, politicians have little incentive to perform as required for survival in the free market, competitive business world.
