Religious and civil rights are being put at risk
As the pastor of Valley Isle Fellowship, religious and civil rights are very important. Both of these values are at risk in the upcoming special legislative session.
However, as you read articles like the following, describing what has happened in Massachusetts, you begin to wonder whose civil rights are being affected: www.massresistance.org/docs/marriage/effects_of_ssm_2012/SSM_Mass_2012.pdf.
This bill that is being considered will endanger people with a biblical worldview from exercising their faith and conscience outside of the church building. This will force us to choose between what belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God, because the two will be so diametrically opposed.
There needs to be civility and careful thinking as our legislators come to a decision on this very important decision. Silencing the opinions and views of any segment of our community would not contribute to this careful consideration.
