Isles under divine judgment, thus gay marriage

We in the Christian community stood against making gay marriage the law in Hawaii. Many of us believed that God’s judgment would fall on us if this happened. This, however, is false. We are not under divine judgment because our government made gay marriage legal. We have gay marriage because Hawaii is under divine judgment.

Fear of God has left the land, the word of God is no longer respected.

To those who do not believe, I say nothing. They have made their choice.

However, to those of us who bear the name of Christ, I would ask us to remember that our Lord told us that we were to be the salt of the Earth, that she be preserved from evil. But if the salt has lost its savor, Jesus told us that we would be good for nothing and would be cast out and trodden under the foot of men.

The sad truth is that we in the church don’t live any different than those who do not claim to be followers of Christ. We have not given the world any reason to believe our message. Peter reminded us that judgment begins with the house of God. Yet God is merciful. He promises us that if we his people, who are called by his name, would humble themselves, pray, seek his face and turn from our evil ways, he will forgive our sins and heal our land.
