New organization needed to keep the island clean

There is too much littering going on in Kihei. I see rubbish everywhere. I see it along the roads of Kihei, snagged on a branch in the trees and even along the front and back of schools around the Kihei district, and much more.

This problem has gotten way worse over the past years. If this continues, our whole island will look like a rubbish dump.

As people of Hawaii, we need to take care of our aina. Sooner or later, our aina will not provide us with the resources we need to survive. We need to take responsibility and do something about this.

In my opinion, I think we need to start an organization. It would be an organization that cleans the aina and protects our resources, or what’s left of them, and it is optional to be a part of it or not.

On the other hand, for me this is very heartbreaking to see that we as people don’t care about things like these, or if we see things like this happen we just push them off to the side for people like me, a teenager in high school, to worry about.

We still have time to fix things, we just need to work together as one. If you don’t want to be a part of this organization, then you can just do the small things like picking up a piece of trash off the ground. Things like that can go a long way.
