Overheated Hawaii may not be refugee destination

A Nov. 11 letter writer who wrote to express concern about migrants from islands inundated as a result of global climate change should perhaps not be too concerned about immigration to Hawaii.

Recent studies project that within three decades present maximum temperatures will become the new minimums and, by midcentury, Honolulu’s may be reaching 140-plus degrees.

If this seems fanciful, tuning in to the current news from the Philippines may be more thought provoking.
