Stop the bashing of others’ pursuit of happiness

When my husband and I were married almost 10 years ago, we did not choose a specific faith to marry us. If we’d wanted to, however, we’d have not been able to choose, for example, the Catholic, Jewish, Mormon or Muslim churches as these are not religions we are members of.

I don’t hold that against these faiths but want them to stop bashing others’ pursuit of happiness. Our commitment is between us and the state, no one else. I do not try to hinder beliefs of others, and feel it’s shameful for people to try.

Please remember this country stands on freedom of religion, the pursuit of happiness and separation of church and state. Please keep living lives of aloha and acceptance for all.
