Website is a good start to reducing shark attacks

The Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System has created a Web page for tracking sharks (The Maui News, Nov. 15). I think it’s a great start to help prevent more shark attacks in the future. Now it will let anyone from surfers to tourists find out which beaches are safe for them to swim.

There have been way too many shark injuries and attacks in the past few years. It seems there has been an attack every month in Hawaii.

I love going to the beach and would hate to be bitten by a shark. From now on I will check the site before I plan to go to any beach. Hopefully, this new technique will reduce the number of shark attacks so we can all have fun at the beach without anything ruining it for us.
