Our differences as people should be celebrated

By classifying groups of people with similar physical characteristics or beliefs into different “races,” we have set up a prejudicial system that I believe accounts for the ease with which some people do harm to others who aren’t like themselves – “those people.”

A world of people who all look and think alike would be very boring indeed. Let’s celebrate our differences borne out of our ethnic backgrounds, experiences and individual preferences – our uniqueness.

But these distinctions do not make a race. We are all members of the human race. Let us appreciate our fellow members and show them respect, kindness and tolerance.
