Danger averted thanks to response from boat crew
I was swimming along the shore in Makena on the morning of Feb. 21 at Pu’u Ola’i when an 8-foot tiger shark swam right up to me.
I tried kicking it in the head, which got it to turn away, but then it began circling me.
Fortunately, Capt. Brian of Pacific Whale Foundation’s Ocean Explorer quickly responded to my calls for help and got me out of a potentially dangerous situation.
Many, many thanks to Capt. Brian and his crew.
