Little has changed as sand continues to be taken
Regarding the sand and dunes restoration project on South Kihei Road: It’s been a while since I’ve written about this subject but I write again because not only does the sand continue to be hauled away by the workers of a nearby condominium project, but now also this area is being used as a dumping area for old block engines.
Someone dumped an old engine about three weeks ago and there it lies on the edge of the sand and road.
In addition to that, the volunteers never posted a sign on the project indicating is illegal to remove sand from this area. Nothing has changed much, and as long the removal of sand for landscaping or other individual needs continues the work will prove again useless.
