Editorial missed the point of requiring voter IDs

The editorial in the April 11 issue was reasonable and sensible, except that the editorial writer missed the point.

The editorial favored requiring voters to produce photo IDs. The premise is that they’re required for a lot of transactions, so where is the burden? Only, at the end of the editorial, in the last two words in fact, is the justification given for requiring photo IDs: Voter fraud.

That’s the big problem? Illegal aliens are trying to vote? How about some evidence? Where are all the news stories about voter fraud across these United States? Are you kidding?

No, it’s not about voter fraud. It’s about politics. It’s about Republicans trying to keep the poor from voting, because they’ll probably vote for Democrats.

You didn’t know that?
