People who can’t speak English shouldn’t drive

I recently read about the Department of Justice agreeing that Hawaii does not offer enough languages on the driver’s license testing (The Maui News, March 29).

I have been driving a car for 37 years now and not once have I ever seen a road sign – or worse, a warning sign – in any language other than English.

Why not think about the safety of everyone on the roadways? If people can’t read or speak English, they should not be driving.

Stop trying to be so politically correct that you don’t see this as a problem. Driving is a privilege, not a right.
