Double standard seen in way income is reported

I read the May 16 Money Matters article stating that the law permits “public officials to list their assets in broad ranges.” For example: President and Mrs. Obama have assets between $l.8 million and $7 million. And Vice President Joe Biden has assets between $276,000 and $940,000.

That’s a pretty broad range. Why are any of our public officials able to do what the rest of we Americans cannot do? There’s a really big double standard here, which should not be tolerated by we the taxpayers.

But, as the old saying goes, “You can’t fight city hall” (or the government).
