Power belongs to the people, not to corporations

Power to the people, not power to a corporation. The Founding Fathers based our democracy on the principle “of the people, by the people and for the people.” It was not based on “of the corporation, by the corporation and for the corporation.”

Monsanto is a corporation. We, the people, have a right to vote. We, the people, have a right to know what we are putting into our bodies, which is why we have disclosure on food labels. We, the people, can decide for ourselves whether to buy salt-free, sugar-free or organic products. We, the people, not Monsanto the corporation, have a right to know whether the food is genetically modified organism by food label disclosure.

Let the people have the power and right to choose and decide for ourselves, not continue allowing a corporation to decide for us.

By voting to allow GMO disclosure on food labels, just as the label indicating whether it is organic or not, is voting for the people to have information to make their own choice, and a vote against only a corporation having the information and making the choice for us. Basically, a corporation, such as Monsanto, would be blocking our right to choose.
