New hospice on Maui is neither wanted nor needed

Why does this unwanted hospice coming into Maui not have to do an environmental assessment (The Maui News, Aug. 3)? Making our beloved Hospice Maui do one is wrong.

I am hoping all locals will be true to Hospice Maui, which has a proven track record, when they or any family member needs the end-of-life services.

Why do we need another hospice? Who agreed to this, and which politician or politicians is this benefiting?

The staff and board of directors of Hospice Maui know our communities well and are very familiar with our needs. In essence, we are all ohana, especially those of us who have entrusted the end-of-life care of our loved one to them.
