Salvation Army kettle a way for everyone to help
Respond favorably when you hear the bells ring and see the kettle!
At this time of the year we see the Salvation Army hold out their hands for support of their community causes.
Seventy-five years ago my grandmother was a local supporter for them in Southern California. She would see needy folks and ask for help for them. The Salvation Army officer would come and listen to the plea for help. The officer would immediately write out a check for this family’s needs. Then he and grandma would pray for them.
I never forgot this, so when I hear the bells ring and see the kettle, something goes in the pot. Does it work? I think it helps everyone. Don’t pass the pot without putting something in it.
