Wes Lo served MMMC longer than predecessors

For the 20 years prior to Wes Lo being at the helm of Maui Memorial Medical Center, there had been 16 administrators, meaning that the tenure of those that preceded him was an average of one year and three months. Lo served just under 10 times longer than any of his predecessors.

He adroitly balanced the pressures from doctors, nurses, patients, unions, vendors, community and government. Wes brought leadership and staying power in the extreme in an often thankless hotbed of competing interests and enormous challenges. His tenacity, vision and unyielding commitment to quality health care on Maui leave an indelible mark on the fitness and well-being of our community.

From the bottom of our hearts we say mahalo. Please take a bow, hear our applause and enjoy a long holiday before continuing your work. Hale Makua is fortunate to have the benefit of your executive skills and the entire community is blessed in that you are going to continue to be a part of leading the way in health care.
