Waiehu rooming house is not fit for habitation

I have witnessed the appalling living conditions that a person was placed in by Maui County. This rooming house in Waiehu is not fit to live in; there is black mold. The unfinished ceiling? There is rain pouring through the ceiling in the bedroom.

Who in Maui County approved this facility? The place in question is located at Waiehu near the beach where there are hordes of homeless people living there illegally and there are drug users and dealers there and lots of public consumption of alcohol.

When is Maui County going to provide safe living conditions that they place in accommodations? Let’s clean up the beachfront in front of the homes, get rid of the abandoned vehicles and people that have made homes out of their vehicles. Maui County, take care of the lower-income people properly. Give your best, not your worst. Who in Maui County government would live in a place where the rain pours through by he ceiling and there is black mold? Hello, Honorable Mayor Arakawa and County Council. Please step up and take action — today.
