Founding member of VITA deserves acknowledgement

It has come to my attention that the original founder of the Valley Isle Timing Association was Harold “Gilly” Cambra. He, along with help from then-Mayor Elmer Carvalho, got the first 20-year lease, bought the first timing lights and paved the first 50 yards of the drag strip.

Why then is there no acknowledgement of him by the Valley Isle Timing Association? Shouldn’t this be remedied by the club while Mr. Cambra is still alive? It would be the right thing to do.
