Council’s work on Molokai plan compared to ‘Thrones’

Watching the County Council work on the Molokai Community Plan is like viewing a really boring version of “Game of Thrones.”

In Kings Landing you have Kelly King and Elle Cochran constantly trying to one up each other and lay claim to the throne, playing I’m the smartest empress (poorly, I might add). With each grasp at power they look more and more like Geoffery. Yet, Riki Hokama sits back and plays Hand of the King, dispelling condescending barbs to which the ladies bow to.

Stacy Crivello, as the leader of the Wildlings, is constantly reminding them that the free folk will never bend the knee. The Wilding Molokai testifiers don’t really say it, but would like to have a one-sentence Community Plan, “Leave us alone and keep sending checks.”

There have been two and a half years of community input, CPC and Molokai Planning Commission work done. Now the power-hungry politicians in the Small Council to the King is playing to the camera and rewriting the entire Community Plan line by line.

“Their insatiable lust for power is only equaled by their incurable impotence in exercising it.” — Winston Churchill
