Dispensaries will begin selling marijuana products

The Maui News’ Sept. 21 front-page story sent a clear message.

Cannabis flowers and other products are available on Maui. Perhaps there are only a few people in the community who now have access to curing their physical and mental dilemma.

On the contrary, not having an adequate supply of cannabis flowers and other products, one might germinate the idea of a need for diversified agriculture.

For example, how about poppy plants grown here on Maui, from China or Afghanistan? We could then process a dispensary for heroin, but we can name it “Brown Sugar.”

How about coca plants from Colombia, with a dispensary name straight out of the Bible for cocaine, “Mana from heaven.”

And finally, if we need approval from our County Council, we can assure a quick action absentee response, “I, I, I went to the . . . Sorry were out of stock,” dispensaries under the God-given climate of Maui during work hours?

Diversified agriculture will employ the entire community; if one crop is allowed, other crops should be allowed.
