Council needs to learn definition of a ‘hotel’
The Oxford dictionary is a good place for County Council members to review the meaning of hotel: “noun — An establishment providing accommodations, meals and other services for travelers and tourists.”
Webster’s Dictionary: “building that provides lodging, meals and other services to the traveling public on a commercial basis.”
You can call it a B&B, short-term rental or TVR. Whatever you call it, it’s still a hotel. They impact our roads, water, beach parks and public safety resources. They should be taxed as a hotel. Do what’s right.
