Finding comfort in appearance of police
In response to a letter Oct. 15, I find great comfort in the appearance of the Maui Police Department. I do not see a mass of thugs with obvious steroid use and daily shooting and beatings of people. It comforts me knowing I could, if needed, run away from the police here. Most of police work on Maui is revenue gathering from traffic or domestic abuse from alcohol and intentional poverty.
Yes, intentional — this island of greed has intentionally made if tough on the poor for very greedy reasons. Anyway, it’s pretty much clear this is the Monsanto police department, not Maui’s, in which case the slovenly, obese appearance fits even better.
