Keeping home delivery of newspaper is a good thing
A letter to the editor (Nov. 15) really struck home in my neighborhood. A woman wrote that the walk up to the newspaper tube at the mailbox was the best trip on the morning it was announced that home delivery would continue.
She is not alone with that sentiment. Many of my neighbors are elderly and homebound. They need a reason to walk outside. My 94-year-old father is one of them. So many things he cannot do any more, but he picks up his cane and heads out the door and up the driveway to retrieve The Maui News every single day.
Keeping home delivery of The Maui News is a good thing. Mahalo.
