Keeping home delivery was right decision for paper

Kudos to The Maui News for reversing its decision to transfer home delivery of the newspaper to the United States Postal Service. We are happy to know that our morning routine of reading the newspaper with our first cup of coffee will now remain part of our lifestyle that has been a tradition for many years. And knowing that we will not lose our Sunday or holiday newspaper delivery just adds icing to the cake!

We thank you for listening to your subscribers and not letting financial or profit motivations control your decision. Obviously, for the success of the newspaper and contentment of your subscribers, the “decision reversal” was the right thing to do. To all subscribers, I say now is the time to get behind your island newspaper and support their advertisers, which in turn will help the local economy.

Since moving to Maui, we have made many purchases due to advertising in The Maui News and also supported many local events made known through stories or ads in the newspaper. This can be a winning situation for everyone on Maui. Thank you, Maui News!
