Kiwanis Club of Maui welcomes used magazines

There have been a couple letters recently to the editor concerning the fact that the county no longer supports recycling magazines, and the writers are asking what to do with them.

The Kiwanis Club of Maui has been recycling magazines and bringing them to the hospital for a number of years after one of its members sat in a waiting room with nothing to read.

Our members bring their used magazines to our regular meetings — every Thursday at noon at Tante’s Restaurant — and we deliver them to the hospital, depending on the quantity that we collect.

There is a lack of magazines in clinics and doctors’ offices around the island that citizens could take them to, or deliver them to Tante’s Restaurant on Thursdays at noon and our club members will see that they get delivered.
