KCA announces general membership meeting

Happy New Year to all from the Kihei Community Association.

What is happening for the new year in south Maui? KCA kicks off the new year with the largest board of directors in a decade with a mix of old and new blood. And we are off and running with a public meeting on the third Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at 41 E. Lipoa St. Come meet that new expanded board and see who they elected as officers, before being informed on three distinct matters presented to attendees.

We’ll look at a joint project with the Kula Makai Moku for an informative plan of road and beach signs and complementing brochures, offering historic Hawaiian landmark identifications in South Maui. Next, we’ll have a status update of the under-construction Kihei Charter School in a picturesque location at the top of the R&T park on Lipoa. We then expand countywide as we conclude with a revised proposal for a “county manager” form of county government, and attempt to determine if this time voters will have a voice in selecting a proposed change.

This is a KCA general membership meeting for our participants, but we continue to keep it open to the community with no charge or requirement, but do expect attendees to contribute to our perpetual Maui Food Bank drive.
