Maui snow day offers rare experience for local families
I read with interest your Feb. 20 article “Maui snow day — Local families flock to Haleakala summit for rare Valley Isle snowfall.” A few years ago, before coming to Maui, I stood in my driveway in an 8-foot-high snow trench, trying my best with my shovel to hoist the snow over the banks. I will happily yield my space in Haleakala traffic to families who have never seen snow.
